Although after 800+ miles this weekend I’ve massacred plenty of bugs and dirt, so it is in dire need already.

Just remove them safely.

A lass that works at the sandwich shop brought her car down to me to be cleaned, front end covered in dried in bugs and she’s tried scraping them off with her nail.

Once the bugs where soaked with degreaser and allowed to hydrate, they came straight off and that left loads of really bad scratches from where her nail had scraped back and forth.

I could of cried but managed to get all of it out.

What do you use? I do have some products on this side of the pond but it usually requires a wipe with a microfiber cloth as well to really get it off

I use, depending on what’s in hand, nearby, Gtechniq Quick Detailer, Bilt Bamber Surfed HD degrease, CarPro All Purpose Cleaner, etc...

Ye’, you’ll still need to wipe with a microfibre but an all purpose cleaner, quick detailer, tar remover, etc... spray a little on, let it dwell and soak in, the spray another small amount and wipe, if it requires anything more than just a little pressure to remove, stop and repeat the process. If necessary and your not going to do a full wash, soak a little paper kitchen towel or toilet roll and place over the bugs and let it soak. Lift off after a couple of minutes (but don’t let it dry out), spray a little more on and wipe off. If using cleaners, make sure to wipe off the product and then wipe over with a quick detailer.
